Posted by Erik on April 19th, 2009 filed in fatality

Jean Gorman has sent this around, but I just got back to my computer so it is late notice. Services for Allen Johnson are tomorrow, and the cycling community is invited.
As you know, Allen was struck and killed several weeks ago while riding his

Sigh

Posted by Erik on April 17th, 2009 filed in Our eternal quest for Platinum Status, TPD shortcomings

Check it out [...]

Allen Johnson ghost bike installed

I was sent this photo today of a ghost bike that has appeared at the site where Allen Johnson was killed. I am told there still has been no citation issued to the driver, although she struck Johnson well within the bike lane.

Tucson Bike Fest 2009

Posted by Erik on April 13th, 2009 filed in Joie de vivre, opportunity knocks, upcoming bicycle related events

I haven’t always had a super high opinion of all of the decisions made or at least facilitated by the Tucson Department of Transportation, but I have always been a supporter of what the City’s bike coordinators are up to. I think the City of Tucson does a darn good job helping out bicyclists. [...]
