Bicyclist fatally struck in Tucson: "Just an accident" says law enforcement.
I didn’t see this when it came out, and it just showed up on google now. From the August 26 edition of the Arizona Daily Star:
Bicyclist fatally struck on South Side
A woman died Saturday night after being hit by a vehicle while riding her bike on the South Side, an official said.
Kuijan Jiang, 73, was crossing the street when she was struck by a southbound 1995 Chevrolet van at South Palo Verde and East Irvington roads, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, a Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman.
Jiang, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 8 p.m., Hanke said.
The Sheriff’s Department is investigating but no citations or arrests were made Saturday, Hanke said.
“It looks like an accident — that’s what it appears at this point,” Hanke said.
