Bogota
Hello from Bogota! It took me about one minute to realize this is a biking town. Right out of the airport at 5 AM one of the first things I noticed was the wide, off-street bike lane next to the busy road. And at that hour it already had many cyclists on it.
I only have one second here at the internet and have to run, but have already spoken to a few people about the transportation policies of the city and people seem to be quite proud of what Bogota has done. My friend is having a little trouble with the elevation so we are heading down lower for a few days and then I will return to do the cyclovia.

Try Cordyceps for the altitude problems. It should work pretty fast.

Watch out for horse drawn wagons.

Hi Teresa, yes, I know! They still use these with some frequency! You do need to watch out . . ..
One thing, the bike paths don“t permit horses or even dogs! If you want to walk your dog, you have to go to the sidewalk. But you can walk or jog on the bike path.

erik, i am discovering that chicago has some pretty good bicycling infrastructure too. tons of bike lanes and the police even corked intersections on the critical mass ride last night.
