Breaking Away tonight at La Placita, free

As part of Tucson’s BikeFest, the City is showing Breaking Away at La Placita.
I suspect most of my readers have seen this movie enough already, but if you haven’t, you should check it out. It’s a classic of our (bike) culture!
I remember seeing it when it came out, and being so excited that my sport was getting some exposure. I basically modeled my life on that movie, to the point of going to Italy to race bikes when I was in high school!
Things have come a long way for American bicycling since that movie was made.
P.S. Oh yeah, I know a lot of you are wondering, but I didn’t win the Tucson Bike Advisory Committee Advocate of the Year Award again. Congratulations to whoever did!
