Breaking News: drive-thru bike ban killed by text message sent by woman on four-person bike
Carhead August 21st, 2009
Only in Portland, Oregon.
A mom rides up to a wind-powered, locavore burger-joint on an Xtra-cycle with all three of her kids on it, and gets refused service at the drive thru window. So she tweets about it and the next thing you know the Burgerville is changing their policy and she’s in USA Today.
What a wonderful world!

What’s funny is that Burgerville didn’t even have an official bike ban before this — it was just a store-by-store thing that had been poorly communicated to that particular employee at the drive-thru that day.

The pinnacle of my existence was driving the pedicab through Wendy’s on Campbell and Speedway last fall and convincing them to serve my drunk passengers.

Yeah, but you didn’t use twitter so it’s irrelevent.

I wonder if we could get Sarah Gilbert to visit the Walgreens by my house? I’m so annoyed that they deny me a convenience that is offered to other passengers on wheels.
I’m following her Twitter now, and the poor brave thing is scheduled to be on Fox & Friends this week!

Scuse me — CUSTOMERS on wheels! Sheesh.

@ Mindy: Which Walgreens do you go to? I’ve rolled though the one on Campbell and Ft. Lowell without a problem. Same with a friend of mine.

Hi Michael, it’s Camino Seco and Broadway. I have a coworker who has no trouble riding through his Walgreens, either. Guess mine is managed by a jerk.
