Cargo bikes!

A cargo bike blog somehow related to Xtracycle has just featured two from Tucson — the couple above on their monstrous bakfiets-xtracycle and the Mercurio that BICAS just auctioned off. Check it out! http://www.cargobikegallery.com

Man I love cargo bikes. Has anyone seen the three-wheeled recumbent with the giant rear platform around town? I only saw it once, maybe a year ago. That thing was cool

Is this pic @ Burning Man?

The recumbent trike you’ve seen is a “Sensible Utility Vehicle” (with scavenged pallet material as the cargo bed):

About that Tricycle with the platform you could be talking about Da Mule.
A front or rear drive recumbent 2-ton pedal powered truck.
New in August of 1994 for the IHPVA practical vehicle competition in Eureka, CA.

Or by platform you could have been talking about a high platform as it is depicted

I saw this thing outside of Optical Sciences (UA) today! I stared at it for about 5 minutes. It has giant 36 inch wheels!

It was very large, locked to the bike rack.
