Critical Mass tonight–lots of people wondering about it

I am getting besieged with questions about Critical Mass tonight. I don’t know anything other than what is in the paper, with the usual idiotic commentary (over 140 comments as I write this). The ride starts downtown at the Presidio Park downtown at 6 P.M. Riders are being cautioned in the announcements I’ve seen that Tucson Police will be ticketing for infractions, which does not surprise me.
The Tucson Bicycle Advisory Council is also planning to be there, which will be interesting. Their presence alone will probably keep the cops from being very heavy-handed.
I’ll be there on my Xtra-Cycle. Watch out if you’re behind me since I’ll be stopping at every light and stop sign! And staying to the right . . ..
