Drake Okusako
Drake’s brother Chris posted this comment on another entry down below, but I wanted to make sure it didn’t get buried in the comments section. –EBR
I’m at a Motel 6 now in southern California on my way home. Drake liked camping and outdoor beauty so I said a prayer for him and released his ashes into a small stream at White Water near Palm Springs. It hurt like sixty to let him go, but I think he would have liked that. The day before I left Tucson, the Muldowneys arranged to pick up a ton of Drake’s soccer gear to be donated to the Randolph Soccer group. Thank you for your valuable help in both finding me at Fry’s and distributing the bags of gear. Today I visited the site where Drake died and took photographs of the little shrine volunteers erected for Drake. It was beautiful, and his mother will be so thankful, as am I! Thanks to all of you,

Sounds like a good send off, Chris. In case you missed it, there’s a nice letter to the editor remembering Drake in the Star today by Karen Hymer-Thompson at the enclosed link. Take care. – Stephanie Jackter

Chris,
My sincere condolences to you and to Drake’s mother. I agree that you chose a good final resting place for your beloved brother.
