First cargo bike seen on Tuesday Night Bike Ride

I sadly did not make this week’s ride, but Elizabeth reports that our friend Lauren rode her Mexican Mercurio Cargo Bike the whole distance. I am still waiting for Lauren to write up her account of going down to Mexico to purchase this bike, and her adventures riding it across the border on the highway (it doesn’t fit through the turnstiles at the pedestrian crossing.)

    Hi Regan,

    Do you live in Tucson? If so, it’s just a matter of driving to Nogales and buying one. If you live quite a ways from Mexico it might be harder. The brand name is Mercurio — I have seem them advertised somewhere on the internet.

    They cost under $300.00 in Nogales.
