Hon. Judge Fields to accommodate public at Glenda Rumsey sentencing
Glenda Rumsey will be sentenced next week for killing young Jose Rincon and injuring his friend Oscar Perez while driving her car well off the shoulder of Broadway Blvd. She had a blood alcohol content of .249, which is about three times the limit.
It seems Jose’s too-short life was pretty inspiring, because the trial attracted so many friends and family members that during Rumsey’s trial they had to take turns in the court room listening to testimony.
Judge Fields has decided to sentence Ms. Rumsey in the Board of Supervisor’s building next door, which can accommodate well over 100 people. According to the Superior Court website, sentencing will be January 20 at 1:30 PM.
At last there will be some closure for the Rincon family in this awful tragedy.
