Jose Rincon Ghost Bike is Replaced

ghostbikes July 21st, 2008

A opinion piece from Saturday’s AZ Star entiteld “Thorns and Flowers” extends a thorn to the thief who removed the Jose Rincon Ghost Bike.  However, Jose’s father left this comment:

“A flower to whomever replaced my son’s bike. There’s a freshly painted bike back at the accident site. Some giveth, and some taketh away. As fast as it disappeared, a new one seems to have re-appeared. Thank you!”

I do not know who replaced the bike or whether or not the replacement is anchored in concrete, but I would like to try to get out to the eastside and photograph the new one.

  1. Chris Chandler Says:

The day after Jose Rincon’s ghost bike was stolen – my son (Riley Chandler – frined and classmate of Jose) and I made another to replace the one stolen. We set it in concrete to thwart any further attempts to steal it. Seems someone was very determined to remove it as it was stolen once again sometime yesterday (August 14, 2008).
