My morning commute, Part 1
Uncategorized November 16th, 2007
Today at 9:02 AM I was riding down Fourth Avenue when a bicyclist passed me, riding no-handed, with his hands jammed in his pockets. He turned left at Seventh Street, crossing the trolley tracks and cutting off two cars in the process, still without pulling his hands out of his pockets.
He threaded the needle between the car waiting to cross Fourth at Seventh Street and the curb.
If that guy walks into my office with a head injury, I’m probably not going to feel a lot of sympathy for him.

You would NOT believe what I saw just this afternoon. I was near campus on 6th when I saw a woman on a bike riding westbound. Traffic (westbound) was stopped at a light–she rode up behind us, pulled into the left turn lane, went through the stoplight, went back to the far right, and rode on her merry little way. Blew my mind. I’ve seen a lot–but never that. It’s behavior like that that gets the rest of us in such hot water!
