New Belgium Brewing Co. Urban Assault Ride, Sunday April 19 in Tucson
Cool bikes, Joie de vivre, imminent death of car-based culture, upcoming bicycle related events April 14th, 2009
Remember the El Grupo scavenger hunt? I think this is similar, but with a lot more beer. One of my clients turned me on to this and as I have inside information as to how much in-town riding she does, I feel sorry for those who will be competing against her.
Check it out here. They are starting at noon so as not to interfere with the bike swap!

I know it’s for a good cause but the entry price is too steep! $60 worth of beer would keep me going for a month and I can ride ride ride and act like an idiot for free. I wish it was cheaper, I wanted to do it.

Is a free case of beer included with each entry?

Andrea Kelly seems to think so:

I think that’s the first time I’ve seen bicycle positive comments on a starnet story.

Well, Andrea can be worried about linking
beer to a bicycling event if she wants, but
her car-headedness is showing.
I agree with one of the commenters
seriously:
“I’ll take 10 drunks on bikes anytime
over one drunk in a car!”

This will be fun. I’m sorry it eclipsed the El Grupo Scavenger Hunt which is normally held on the day of the Spring Bike Swap.
The El Grupo Scavenger Hunt will be held in October. I did the El Grupo hunt last year and my face hurt at the end from grinning all afternoon. Don’t miss it!
