“Person of Interest” found in El Tour hit and run case

safety November 25th, 2008

I don’t see any news on this yet, but evidently the Pima County Sheriff’s Department has been contacted by an attorney of a person sought in the hit and run, or a person who believes he is sought in that investigation. I hope this person is taking responsibility for his actions now.

In other news, the Star has an opinion piece on hit-and-run accidents. (They’re against them.)

Update: the Star reports the man is “cooperating” with investigators, but so far, no charges have been filed.

If I were the judge, I would give the sociopath 2 choices, be removed under guard from the back door of the courthouse to spend the rest of his life behind bars, or walk out the front door unprotected into an angry mob of cyclists equipped with U locks, old bicycle chains, and frame pumps. The only thing that prevented him from being guilty of murder was pure dumb luck.

Any news on this going to charges? Unfortunately, the 91-yr-old man hired one of the most ruthless defense attorneys in Tucson… so justice may very well be subverted. I wonder if the news and everyone else will just forget about the story and nothing will progress. Any word on Gary Stuebe’s condition?
