Check out what they did with that massive ordinary bike wheel!

I wonder what awful things Tom “I would trade a year’s worth of “arts” funding for 20 good minutes of fireworks” Danehy is going to say about this.

Danehy is an ignoramus! He didn’t know that those PLAYSOCCER stickers were for AYSO! He’s supposed to be some kinda sports dude? Ha!

I took some photos and made a slide show. However, the stock music on my laptop was turned off so you have to hum a tune while you watch it.

Danehy’s function at the TW is simply to inspire Letters to the Editor – sort of a less obvious (and less entertaining) version of Ed Anger, formerly of Weekly World News fame. Every paper loves LTTE, good or bad, at least they know they’re being read. Don’t take him seriously.

That said, forget about the fireworks. *I’d* trade a year’s worth of arts funding for – well, a years worth of pretty much *any* legitimately needed city service or infrastructure; considering some of the other stuff that’s being cut.

Wow! What a lovely memorial. I can’t wait to see it in person. I wouldn’t trade the City’s dedication to arts funding for anything.

Speaking of bikes downtown, I spotted this notice on my way in to work this morning…

Tucson Birthday Ride comemorating the 4th Avenue underpass!

Tucson Bike Alliance is partnering with Greater Arizona Bicycle Association for 2 rides down to the Fourth avenue underpass opening ceremony. There are 3 parties going on from 3 to 10 pm and the ceremony starts at 4. The parties will be downtown, maingate and fourth ave. For more event info visit http://www.downtowntucson.org or call 547-3338

Our rides start a 3pm from LaMadera park just north of Glen on Treat ave. and at Golf links park at Golf Links and lower Craycroft. These are slow rides and all ages and riding levels welcome. An important message we are sending by the number of riders attending is how important safe cycling access to the downtown is and how important cycling is to the downtown. Helmets and lights are reccomended.
