Tucson: Bicycling Mecca or Death-Trap? AZ Star says both.

Charlotte pointed me to today’s article in the AZ Star titled “More Pedestrians and Cyclists Dying on Tucson’s Streets.” The article comes a mere two days after a similar article titled “Tucson Aims for Pinnacle as Biking Mecca.”
The article in favor of death-trap status starts: “More pedestrians and bicyclists have died within the city limits on Tucson’s East Side in the last 12 weeks than in the previous two years combined.”
Arguing for Bicycling Mecca, on the other hand, the Star tells us: “It’s time for a platinum award, say those who have worked to get the Tucson area more bicycle-friendly.”
I’ll let you figure it out.
