Tuesday night bike ride today — 160 people showed up last week!

Uncategorized September 25th, 2007

At least that’s what I’m told, and it seems about right. It was a big crowd.

The bike ride is informal and, as far as I can tell, not led or organized by anyone. It consists of a slow-paced, three or four mile saunter through town, usually including a trip up Fourth Avenue and then back into downtown. It is not a competitive bike ride and nobody gets dropped! It’s entirely suitable for a single-speed cruiser bicycle and the ride re-groups every ten or fifteen minutes anyway.

It’s also not a Critical Mass. Although, 160 cyclists at once do tend to take the lane! It’s just a great opportunity to show off your bike and ride through the cool evenings with a huge group of people.

The ride meets at 8 PM from the flagpole at the main entrance of the University, which is at Park Avenue and University.
