Velo Med
Last week a friend of mine told me about a locally owned urgent care clinic that recently opened in Tucson called Velo Med. So I decided to ride up to the foothills to investigate. Though it isn’t exactly a mecca for injured cyclists (I was a little disappointed that there was no bike rack outside), the walls are adorned with cycling related artwork and it was apparently started by a physician who is an avid cyclist. Services range from X-rays to a small on-site pharmacy.
Though this clinic is really just a general urgent care facility with velo in the name, the doctors on-hand are probably more likely than most places to understand an injured rider’s perspective. The staff was friendly with my inquiries and since it was hot they gave me a free water bottle. The clinic is open 7 days a week and walk-ins are welcome.

I’ve seen the place from behind, where it connects to Rillito River Walk, and I don’t remember if there’s a bike rack back there, but I imagine there would be.

This is a brand new facility, and construction is ongoing! A new bike rack is forthcoming.
We have bike lockers you may use for now (ask at reception).
We are very committed to injured cyclists, as well as any other patient!
And, yes, we have Velo Med water bottles by Specialized…..
