Work bikes finally start to make a dent

Uncategorized August 31st, 2007

There have always been some work bikes in America, but never many. It seems the tide may be turning, because more manufacturers are appearing. The Xtra-Cycle is a terrific example of a bike that is a work bike but is also so cool it is hard not to want one.

Now there is a shop in Portland, Oregon that is devoted to workbikes. Some are exceptionally beautiful machines. Check out their offerings here.

And don’t forget the custom designs from one of my favorite bike builders, Ant Bikes.

You can also get bona-fide Dutch work bikes from The Dutch Bicycle Company. Their website has some beautiful bikes–I may have to get their Transport Super if I can scrape together the money. Their other bikes are beautiful as well.
