Okay- I thought you might be getting at the distinction between cyclists and people who ride bicycles with 2-strokes attached...I guess you are really trying to get at the distinction between criminals who happen to use a bike to getaway and cyclists.

...& thanks!

"Red Star, what are you referring to here as far as Mariana’s journalism goes? Just curious."

In a word, conflation. NB: Red Star was careful to consider Mariana as the *Star's* model of journalism. What was published by the Star was not necessarily what Mariana had in mind.

And yet...

Regards and best safe travelling wishes to you!

I'd like to see the meth-heads on "spooky tooths" separately identified rather than associated as "bicyclists." Most of them ride beach cruisers with a 2 stroke engine rigged onto the bike. Very unsafe- as most of these bikes have only coaster brakes. I've often seen them speeding down the wrong side of the road on the sidewalk with no regard for any laws whatsoever.

Personally, I am very happy to hear that the guy was stopped for a traffic violation...it's too bad he got away. I'm wondering if there is a solution to this problem. I suppose the first step is to get people off meth, which unfortunately is a pretty huge problem in AZ.
